VAT Relief Has Come To Batteries and EV Chargers

Historically, only the installation of the Solar PV System (that is the panels, inverter) were subject to 0% VAT. Although, if we were to isntall a full system, including batteries, we were also able to make this part of the contract to benefit. So what are the benefits of this new VAT relief?

Battery installation has only become more accessible and popular over the last few years, which means there are 1000s of Solar Panel installations that do not have the benefit of storing their energy. If you are one of these, and you’ve been looking at upgrading your system, now is a great time to do that. 

With the upgrade to a hybrid inverter (which would have the added benefit of being more efficient too as technology has improved them over the years) and batteries, you could become even more self-sufficient.

You may have found over the last few years that you could store more, perhaps you are exporting a lot to the grid even with a battery installed. This is your opportunity to install a second, maybe a third, to your system. 

When designing a battery system for a new installation, the total number of batteries installed can be dependent on a lot of factors. This new VAT relief means you can start with just one battery, and if the system needs (and you want) a little bit extra, more can be added on at a later date.

Most Solar Inverters have a capacity to manage 4 batteries at a time, allowing for some great flexibility, reducing the outlay at the beginning and meaning you can come back to it later on, spreading the cost.

Batteries are an expensive part of an installation, and this lets you keep your options open.
